• EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Here's a selection of interesting things I've been up to recently.

Sophie Syzygy - Fashion, Lifestyle and Travel Blog

    Blogger, August 2016 - Present

I have blogged on and off for a number of years, and my most recent foray into the world of writing is www.sophiesyzygy.com.

I post about fashion, lifestyle, make up and travel, all with a slightly grunge twist. Managing a Wordpress site alongside writing, scheduling and promoting blog content is a fun challenge, which I love doing.

    Sophie Syzygy Illustrations

    Owner/illustrator, January 2016 - present

I design greetings cards, art prints, and other design based homewares and stationery. This process usually begins with a splash of watercolour, before making its way onto my laptop and then out to the printer!

I love the process of designing items that people will cherish, and give to loved ones on special occasions. Warming hearts with my artwork is the best feeling!

  • MY INTERESTS?

Well, apart from red lipstick and tattoos...

    WRITING

I like crafting words to within an inch of their typographic lives, engaging with readers through humour, emotion and wit. In the wider sense, I have a real passion for storytelling - my version is done with a pen.

The pen may not technically be mightier than the sword, but you try holding a sword when you're laughing at my blog posts.

    PEOPLE

People are fascinating. I love finding out about different cultures, subcultures, trends, and ways of connecting with people.

Blame this on me being an Aquarius, a Millennial, or a Stevie Nicks fan, but I think it's really important, so we can have better companies, happier societies and a better cared for planet.

    STRATEGY

When you remind people of Monica from Friends as regularly as I do, it's important to embrace it. I love lists. I love spreadsheets. I love organisation.

This has led onto me having a keen appreciation of great strategy, particularly from a marketing point of view. I believe that good strategy is creative, useful, and exciting when it all comes together.
